Polydor are in a tight chart battle with their Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, whose debut album Victory looks set for a Top 3 placing following its release on Friday.
Cian marked the release with a special event for TikTok Live last Thursday, revisiting the spot he used to busk in his hometown of Cork before heading to a local pub to play a livestream show. As well as performing new tracks and fan favourites, he answered questions and shared some of the stories behind his songs.
Cian has recently been announced as Spotify UK’s latest RADAR artist - following the likes of Central Cee, Cat Burns, Wet Leg, Pink Pantheress, Joy Crookes and Griff. His success so far has included a Radio 1 playlist for his single Heaven, two top 20 UK singles with All For You and I’ll Be Waiting, and huge shows as guest to Ed Sheeran and Dermot Kennedy, all while surpassing over half a billion streams across all tracks. The lead visual for his album’s focus track, Everyone Who Falls In Love (Has Someone Else They’re Thinking Of), was released with a lyric video that has now amassed over 273k views.
Strong press coverage has included a CLASH review which stated that the album is “rooted in a refreshing sense of honesty”.
Cian will play over 50 headline shows from now until the end of the year, including sold out dates from New York to Birmingham plus two homecoming nights in Dublin.
