Over the last two weeks, 38 trainees from East London Arts & Music (ELAM) have been working with many of the teams across Universal Music. They finished their work experience with a showcase in our Kensington High Street cafe (pictured is Lucy Kevil with guitarist Molly Burman)

Universal Music UK teamed up with Urban Development at last week's BBC Introducing host Amplify event to curate and participate in a series of panels looking at issues including diversity, social media and the power of playlists.

After three successful years supporting the Roundhouse’s OnTrack programme, Universal Music’s charity office stepped up to support 2017’s six-week project, donating £17,000 in funds to develop the participants’ life skills and help them find pathways into education or employment.

After Metallica’s triumphant show at the House of Vans last week, the Globe team are continuing the promotional drive for ‘Hardwired to Self Destruct’ with a hugely successful live-stream broadcast of the the night in its entirety. In all, 40,000 people applied for the chance to win tickets to the 800 capacity venue, but Globe were able to ensure that the gig was available to experience on-demand globally.

Hence our support for an app-building competition which has just been launched by Queen’s Park Community School, not too far from our London offices.
